Boost Your Productivity in 4 Simple Ways | Maynas Eric Chua ...

If you think that being highly productive is a talent, then you are definitely wrong. People often fall into misconceptions that productivity is inherent, some sort of genetic coding passed on from generation to generation. Most people never realize that it?s simply a habit ? how you manage your life, your activities, your time, and your resources such that you get to do the right things or get the right things done according to how you designed them to be.

Research suggests that there are 4 effective ways that highly productive people do in order to simplify their lives and live differently. Let us have a rundown on these 4 simple ways which could boost one?s productivity.

?

1. Goal Management
  1. Establish goals for yourself. Make your goals SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Timely).
  2. Identify specific objectives. Goals are usually long term and broad. Simplify them by creating specific objectives with definite timeline.

?

2. Tasks Management
  1. Listing things that you SHOULD NOT do. We often hear people creating To-Do Lists. This isn?t what?s being asked here. Instead, list down the things that you think are poor habits, such as playing online games, clicking and browsing hyperlinks of an open webpage, streaming online movies, etc. Post this list in your workplace so that you will always be reminded of them.
  2. Set a time in replying to calls, text messages and emails. It?s one effective way to avoid distractions and give you more focus on the things that you should get done. Restrict to a maximum number of minutes per reply. Also, limit your replies to utmost 3 times in a given day.
  3. Don?t commit to many endeavors. Be wise to choose which are healthy and productive and learn to say NO to unproductive undertakings.

?

3. Place Management
  1. Take out all forms of distractions when you work. You don?t need them. They will only lessen your productivity. Most distractions consume much of your time making you less productive. Work in a quiet, conducive environment.

?

4. Time Management
  1. Organize your things and your place. Wasted times are largely contributed by the time spent in seeking for something. Sort everything in your place by putting first frequently used things and rarely used ones last. This will facilitate smooth and fast action and refrain from making you lose your focus.
  2. Take regular breaks. It?s unhealthy to work without taking a break as this may exhaust you sooner and decrease your productivity. Study shows that a healthy working habit requires a maximum of 1.5 hours per interval, with breaks taken in between.
  3. Find means to do the tasks in a more efficient manner. Identify and carefully examine routinary tasks. Can you combine some steps? Is there a simple or shorter way to do it? With this you can minimize time and allot it for other more important tasks.
  4. Implement a ?one task at a time? scheme. You won?t do something effectively if your attention is divided among multiple different tasks. Stay focused.
  5. Do the right things. Stop looking busy. Keep productive time running by doing the right things. Go back to your posted list on the things you SHOULD NOT do.
  6. Finally, work with a fresh mind. Feed your mind with good things first before bad things occupy them and make your day the worst day of your life.
